DON'T MISS IT: JBF Mckinney Consignment Sale This Weekend!

I was able to go shop at the pre-pre-pre-pre-sale at the JBF Mckinney/Allen Consignment Sale this week. Ha! It's like a kid in a candy shop. I loved every minute of it. (If you missed my tips for shopping consignment, check it out before you go.)

This sale is the biggest sale JBF Mckinney/Allen has ever had. In fact, they've grown so big that next year they're moving to a new location.

I found some amazing deals - DVDs for a $1, belts, socks, underwear, and black shoes (5 pairs, I think!)

It was fun just to walk through and see everything that was available. Here's a little of what you will see . . .

There are shoes literally stacked on top of each other. I found brand new Stride Rites for $8. Some great play shoes with lots of wear left for just $3.

Games - board games, video games, toys, puzzles, books. This is the place to buy all of those things that get lost, broken and used up so fast that paying full price is a waste.

There's an entire room with large baby items. Swings, outside toys, furniture, strollers - we're past the age for most of these things, but this is THE place to buy them if you need them. You will literally pay a quarter of the new cost of these items.

And COSTUMES!! Halloween is just around the corner - and I personally think paying $20, $30 or even $40 for an outfit to be worn for one night is ridiculous. Come get a costume . . . more than likely only worn for one night . . . and pay just $5 - $8 on average.

The sale is open to anyone and everyone Saturday - $3 admission or you can print this FREE admission pass off Facebook and get in for FREE. Then Sunday is a half-price sale.

Extravagantly . . . A Personal Post

There haven't been many personal posts from me in quite some time. I find I can't schedule them; I simply have to wait until it comes pouring from my emotions through my brain and into my fingertips.

Apparently today, I have something to say.

I've been reading a really challenging book with an unusual title. Brace yourself - it'sGod and Boobs by Angie Schuller-Wyatt. Yep, Schuller, as in Robert Schuller of the Crystal Cathedral. It's written by his granddaughter. I was a little wary when I received a copy to review. Honestly I was afraid it was going to be irreverent at best and unbiblical at worst. But I haven't found that to be true. In fact, I've been very surprised to find it challenging and encouraging of me as a believer and as a woman - fully and completely, a woman.

One of the things that it mentioned is how often we misinterpret the verse "Guard your heart for out of it are all the issues of life." Growing up this verse was used regularly …

I Cried the First Time I Watched My Son Wrestle

My middle son, Colt, told me not too long ago that he wanted to wrestle. We are a sports family, but wrestling has never been one of those sports. AND this child is on the spectrum . . . now, all that really means for him is that he's not going to pick up on any social hints you drop, he's incredibly literal, and he's finicky about sensations. Yes, the child who is finicky about sensations told me he wanted to wrestle - where people are constantly touching you and holding you down and forcing your body into positions you don't want it to be in. But I have always determined that I would not hold my children back by forcing artificial boundaries on them that they don't have for themselves - so if the boy wanted to wrestle, we were going to let him try it out.

A couple of weekends ago, we went to his first wrestling tournament. I was so naive. We were supposed to be there at 9 am, and, in all seriousness, I made plans for 11 am. I thought we would walk in, he would h…

AMAZING Disney Fish Extender Gift Ideas

Being new to the Disney traveler's world meant being new to the FE world . . . and as we researched how we were going to participate in the FE that is a part of our cruise, we came across a lot of good FE ideas so I thought I would share them.

Disney Earrings - there are all kinds and many of them are one-of-a-kind but these are a novelty that I know I would love to get as an FE from someone else

Vintage Mickey Mouse Earrings - $3.99 MindieMay
Disney Character Clothes Pins - These would work well to close bags that hold other FE gifts or you could put a magnet on the back of each one and everyone could use them as note holders on the walls of their stateroom. Super cute - this vendor does a really good job with them.

Wave Phone Holders - If you need more information on what these are, you can see my previous post Top 5 Disney Necessities. Basically these are simple holders for a phone that Disney provides which is a cross between a cell p…
