Today’s Big Event

Weston turned 1 this week! CRAZY . . . I know some of you have been around since I got pregnant with this little one. He’s growing way too fast.

Family came to town to celebrate and we had a fun football themed party.

Edited Weston 1 Yr Birthday Invite

These adorable invitations were done by DimplePrints. They have the best customizable invitations and party packages – best of all their prices are reasonable. This invitation design costs $12, and their entire party packages which include everything from invitations to banners to thank you notes are only $20 - $30. (NOTE: You do still have to print these or have them printed on your own. I used my Picaboo credit from a Groupon deal to print mine.)

That’s my birthday boy in his one-of-a-kind birthday jersey from Funky Monkey Threads. Can’t tell you how much I LOVE this! It was perfect for our football party and it’s a great twist on the birthday shirts with the kid’s age on them. If you are interested in any of their clothing – they also do Big/Little Sister and a variety of holidays – you can order with the code MELISSASTUFF and get 15% off plus FREE wrapping.

We had TWO different desserts . . . cupcakes and a cake!

The cupcakes were actually part of a fundraiser that I shared a week or so ago – and they were made by Jessicakes a local bakery who makes lots of yummy treats. We used them to decorate the table and added cupcake toppers from Paper Creativity and even added some additional accents from Haute Blue B to complete the look – unfortunately you’ll have to imagine a felt football and a red and blue pennants because my husband took the pictures before I had them added.

The cupcakes were devil’s food which isn’t personally my favorite flavor – although the kids seem to put them away fast. However, the cake . . . was honestly one of the best cakes I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. And it’s adorable! I couldn’t believe the attention to detail, even the turf was lifelike and edible. My friend Jessica made the cake, and I would absolutely recommend her. I’ll definitely be using her in the future when I need delicious, attractive cakes.

Weston didn’t want to blow the candle out, but to touch it instead.

He also balked at the cake at first, but it wasn’t long before he dug in.

After a quick bath, all that was left was the piñata. It was a little cold, especially with a wet head, so the hat we received from Cite Fuzz.

This boy is too stinkin’ cute. Don’t you just want to squeeze him? I hope I remember these silly faces forever.

Check out this awesome piñata that we received from PinataCasa – it’s 2 foot by 2 foot! I was able to put all kinds of great prizes in there – coloring books, play dough, stuffed animals. Seriously, it was way cooler than a normal piñata. You can actually get a 10% off discount at PinataCasa for the rest of this month with the code CASA.

As everyone was leaving, they not only took their piñata prizes, but also these great stackables as party favors – also made by Paper Creativity.
