I want to share with you a project I heard about and thought you might be able to help with.
A group is undertaking the overhaul of local CPS offices where children go during some of the toughest times in their lives. They are attempting to stock them with new toys as well as provide cleaning supplies to keep them clean between visits.
The email I received contained this detailed information:
Toys for children between the ages of 1-10
Wooden or Solid Toys in good shape (these toys take some abuse so we don't want flimsy toys that will break easily)
Puzzles (preferably ones with wooden bases or in boxes)
Books Baby dolls and accessories (strollers etc)
Small toy kitchens
Small riding toys
Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Spray
Large plastic storage containers to hold all of the loose toys (preferably clear)
Wall decals found at Target or Walmart
Try to avoid toys with batteries since CPS can't keep up with replacing batteries, stuffed animals since these are germ nightmares, and anything that would fit through a toilet paper roll as these are choking hazards for the smaller children.
We are just asking you to go through your toys, as I think we all do after Christmas, and donate what you can.
