Check Your Eggs for Salmonella

The FDA recalled all eggs distributed by Wright Country Egg in Galt, Iowa. There have been reports of related illness from the eggs involved in the recall. Salmonella poisoning can lead to diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting in healthy people but can be fatal for people with weak immune systems.

The eggs were distributed to companies, wholesalers and distribution centers nationwide. Thirteen different brand-names for the recalled eggs have been used:

Lucerne (Kroger)
Albertson
Mountain Dairy
Ralph’s (Tom Thumb)
Boomsma’s
Sunshine
Hillandale
Trafficanda
Farm Fresh
Shoreland
Lund
Dutch Farms
Kemps

Plant Numbers P1026, P1413 and P1946, can be found on the 6, 12 and 18-egg cartons along with Julian numbers of 136 and 225.

If you have eggs affected by this recall, take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
